Tian Lan is an IEEE Fellow and a professor at the Department of ECE George Washington University in DC. He received PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Princeton University. His research interests include machine learning and optimization, with applications to networking cyber systems and human-AI teaming. The research is currently supported by NSF, DARPA, ONR, ARO, USMA, as well as industry research awards from Meta and CISCO. He has received five best paper awards (e.g., IEEE Signal Processing Society, IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE GLOBECOM, and ACM MobiHoc), two best poster/demo awards, six industry research awards (from AT&T, CISCO, and META), and several faculty recognition and innovation awards. He is serving (or served) as a member of FCC Technological Advisory Council (FCC TAC),  INFOCOM 2026 TPC Co-Chair, Fellow of National Quantum Lab at UMD (NQL), and Associate Editor for IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking.
