Bihi Iman Egeh

Bihi Iman Egeh is the Minister of Finance of the Federal Government of Somalia, since July 8^th, 2023, leading critical reforms in public financial management, domestic revenue mobilization, and fiscal policy. With a strong background in governance, economic policy, and legislative oversight, he has been instrumental in advancing Somalia’s financial governance framework and strengthening institutional capacity to support economic growth and fiscal discipline. As Minister of Finance, he has overseen the historic debt relief efforts, securing the cancellation of around $4.5 billion in external debt which was a milestone that significantly reduced Somalia’s debt burden and unlocked new financial opportunities. Under his leadership, domestic revenue mobilization increased by 30%, driven by tax policy and administration modernization as well as digitalization. His focus on public sector efficiency, financial integrity, and sustainable economic policies has positioned Somalia on a trajectory toward stronger financial prospect and investment confidence.
