Mr. SANGAFOWA - COULIBALY is the current Ivorian Minister of Mines, Petroleum and Energy and vice president of the International Foundation for the Adaptation of African Agriculture to Climate Change. He has 33 – years experience in both the private and public sector. Right out of university, He created and ran a successful business in international trade for a decade. In 2003, he joined the Ministry of Agriculture as the deputy Chief Of Staff, then became the Minister in 2010. In those roles, he achieved outstanding results. He deeply reformed the agriculture sector, growing investments and transferring more wealth to the farmers. He secured the transfer of ICCO headquarter from London to Abidjan and was elected president of the 29th Conference of African Agriculture Ministers in FAO. After a break from government in 2019 to pursue personal endeavor, Mr. SANGAFOWA – COULIBALY returned in April 2022 in his current role. Under his leadership, there is a surge in mining and petroleum exploration permits. He has cancelled the long standing deficits in the petroleum products subsidy program and enormously reduced the deficit of the power sector. Mr. SANGAFOWA - COULIBALY graduated in Finance, Physics and Chemistry from University of Abidjan and since 2022 from Harvard Business School executive education. Since 2011, he is a Member of the Ivorian parliament. He has received multiple decorations, including Officer of the lvorian National Ordre, Commander of the Order of Agricultural Merit of both France and Cote d’Ivoire, and Commander of the Ivorian Order of Mining Merit.
