Dr. Christine Gulbranson is a distinguished technology and innovation executive with extensive experience transforming industries such as energy, AI, mobility, agriculture, education, and healthcare. She is the author of the acclaimed book Transformative Innovation focusing on how today's capital drives exponential growth.
Christine currently serves as Chief Strategy Officer, Partner at Unified State Group, and CEO of Nova Global Ventures, a tech-agnostic fund collaborating with Global Corporate Venturing. Previously, she was CEO and Director of a private foundation funded by Sergey Brin/Nicole Shanahan, Chief Innovation Officer of the University of California System managing a $100B+ technology portfolio. As CIO, she pioneered the use of AI in aggregating the UC patent portfolio, enhancing monetization and ROI.
She founded the first national trade association for the advanced energy industry (AEE) and the renewable energy accelerator NIREC. With over 25 years of investment experience across EMEA, APAC, and the US, Christine was a General Partner at GCP and a senior investment advisor to a European family office. Her media presence includes serving as a judge on Discovery Channel's "The Big Brain Theory: Pure Genius."
Dr. Gulbranson is an independent board director with experience as chair of nom/gov and member of the audit and compensation committees. She has been recognized as one of Silicon Valley's top 40 Under 40 business leaders and as an innovator for the 21st century by MIT's Technology Review.
Raised in rural Northern California and Germany, Christine is a first-generation college graduate with five degrees from UC Davis, including a PhD in materials science and engineering and an MBA. She also holds patents in nanotechnology and lighting.
