Barnabé Muakadi Muamba is a senior Congolese government official currently serving as the Director General of the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Appointed in June 2020, he brings over 26 years of experience within the DGI, where he has held various positions, honing his expertise in taxation and public revenue management.

Under his leadership, the DGI has achieved remarkable success in revenue mobilization. In April 2022, the institution collected approximately 3,000 billion Congolese francs (equivalent to $1.5 billion), significantly surpassing initial forecasts. His exceptional management earned him prestigious recognitions, including the Best Manager Award in 2022 from the North South Investment (NSI) Forum in Houston, USA. In September 2024, he was further honored by Bravo X ASBL as the Best Public Sector Executive for his exemplary leadership.

Beyond his role in public administration, Barnabé Muakadi is also an evangelical pastor. Ordained in the year 2000, he has been leading the church "La Main de l'Éternel" since 2017, demonstrating his commitment to both governance and spiritual leadership.

In December 2024, he spearheaded the launch of supplementary end-of-career allowances for retired DGI executives and staff—an unprecedented initiative in the institution’s history aimed at improving the welfare of former public servants.
